We’re thrilled to introduce the ExoTrails 2.0.0 release — a major milestone for our product, our users, and the future of outdoor adventures across Vietnam and beyond.
This release isn’t just a regular update. It marks a complete rebuild of our iOS app, as we officially migrate from Flutter to a fully native iOS framework. What does this mean for you? A significantly faster, smoother, and more reliable app that performs seamlessly in the wild — where it truly matters.
Whether you’re trekking in the highlands, trail running, or exploring hidden corners of Vietnam, ExoTrails 2.0.0 is designed to be your most trusted companion.
Why This Release Matters
After over a year of gathering feedback from thousands of users, we understood that performance, reliability, and offline readiness were key priorities. With ExoTrails 2.0.0, we deliver on all fronts. This update lays the groundwork for an app that scales better, works smoother in low-connectivity areas, and feels as intuitive as nature itself. And we’re just getting started.
What’s New in Version ExoTrails 2.0.0
Here are the biggest changes that come with this version:
In-App Navigation (No Signal? No Problem.)

You can now navigate directly inside the ExoTrails 2.0.0 — no need to open a third-party map. Simply follow the route, even when there’s no internet connection. Whether you’re deep in a jungle or on a remote mountain pass, ExoTrails now works exactly where you need it to.
Note: In-app navigation is only available for locations. For trails, you need to use an external map app to get to the starting point and begin navigation.
Fresh UI Updates Across the App
We’ve also made visual and usability improvements to several key screens:
- Navigation Bar: Cleaned up for faster access and better experience.
- Profile Page: Enhancements were made mainly to your Stats, including an update to how accomplishments over time and by activities are displayed.
- Recording Screen: More intuitive and less cluttered, so you can focus on the journey ahead.

Smarter, Clearer Trail Stats
We’ve improved how we calculate and present trail data. You’ll now get more accurate distance, elevation gain, moving time, and route details. Every step counts — and now it’s tracked with precision.
Performance That Goes the Distance
We’ve heard you loud and clear: the old version sometimes drained battery or caused phones to heat up during long navigation. With this release, we’ve optimized everything to be lighter on your phone and gentler on your battery, so you can go further, longer.
Offline Mode That Works Seamlessly
Offline Mode in ExoTrails 2.0.0 is now easier to access and more intuitive to use. Lost signal? The app automatically helps you switch, so you can keep navigating or recording your adventure without interruption.
Login That Won’t Let You Down
A better sign-in flow in ExoTrails 2.0.0 means you can log in quickly, even in areas with poor connection — no more failed logins when you’re already on the trail.
Still Free. Still For Everyone.
All features of ExoTrails 2.0.0 are now available for all iOS users without any charge. While we’re planning premium features in the future, we remain committed to providing essential outdoor navigation tools for free — because we believe access to nature should never come with a paywall.

What’s Next?
This iOS ExoTrails 2.0.0 release is just the beginning of a major shift in how we build ExoTrails.
- Our Android Native version is coming soon — expected in early June 2025.
- We’re actively working on a Community Platform, where users can connect, share, and build trails together.
- Our trail data is growing faster than ever, with thousands of user-contributed locations and expert-verified tracks.
As always, your feedback shapes our journey. We’re incredibly grateful to our user community who keeps exploring, testing, and sharing their thoughts with us.
