I call Go Co Village the Vietnamese version of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. I’ve known about this village for a long time, always fascinated by its approach to community-based tourism and the way it preserves local culture. But it wasn’t until now that I finally got to visit. Go Co is tiny, small enough to cross in a short walk, yet peaceful in every breath. Coming here, I set aside all work and worries, letting my mind breathe for once.

A Day in the Seaside Fishing Go Co Village of Sa Huynh, Quang Ngai

Every morning in Go Co Village, I wake up early to watch the sunrise, play some music from a small speaker, and dance by myself on the beach. Then I watch the locals haul in their nets, laughing and chatting as they sort their catch.

I stroll along the narrow village paths, passing by ancient houses and seaside cottages painted in the colors of the sky, some built generations ago. Each thatched roof seems to carry the heart of the people who made it.

In the afternoon in Go Co Village, I join the village kids for a swim or a game of rock jumping by the sea. I nap on a breezy bench at the village cooperative and chat with anyone I meet, a fisherman, a grandma selling snacks, or someone resting under the shade. Just like that, another peaceful, happy day drifts by.

Go Co Village is small, so everyone here cherishes each visitor who comes and goes. Most of the residents are elders and children, few young people remain. To me, the older villagers are like living museums, carrying with them the stories of the past. The children, meanwhile, grow up wild and free, just as kids should. Together, they paint a portrait of life that feels wholesome and deeply alive.
Staying with Uncle Co and Aunt Tinh

I stayed with Uncle Co and Aunt Tinh — whose names fittingly mean “love” — in their family homestay in Go Co Village. It’s a true homestay experience, where you live under a local roof and share meals together.
“They’re all like that here,” Uncle Co said, laughing. “Every household treats guests like family.”
Besides their home, Go Co also has a few charming, small homestays — each with its own sweet name and cozy soul.
Let Your Soul Slow Down and Return to Its Purest Form

I admire the young people who’ve chosen to live here — pouring their hearts into helping Go Co Village grow. I love how the whole village works together and how they treat every traveler with genuine kindness.
Go Co isn’t a place for those seeking luxury or comfort. But for those who crave discovery, simplicity, and connection — it’s utterly enchanting.
Come here, and you’ll feel your soul quiet down — returning to its most natural, honest self.
